Here’s a really short blurb, but based on MM Lee’s statement, we should be voting the PAP out.
“The cure to all this talk is really a good dose of incompetent government,” Lee senior told the Straits Times on Thursday, adding that it is “absurd” for Singaporeans to quarrel about ministerial pay and warning that Singapore would suffer it the government could not pay competitive salaries.
“Your security will be at risk and our women will become maids in other people’s countries,” he said.”
Guess who put our country at risk with a good dose of incompetency by letting a limping terrorist walk out of a detention facility?
Hint: It wasn’t the opposition.
Sorry Nomnom, while you’re just recovering from your surgery, I’ve been an unfaithful bastard overseas looking at other pussies. Please forgive me though, I couldn’t resist their cute expressions, fur coats and for some, folded ears. Rest assured however, I’ll be home today and will of course love you just as much. I still think you’re the cutest, but I wouldn’t mind getting a Scottish Fold as a second cat. Shame you can’t really adopt them.
Do not disturb please. Nap in progress. Will bite.
Hey, don’t feed them first. Feed me. *grumpy*
*emo look* I’m cute, furry and have folded ears. Take me home?
‘Ello there, Ooman. Have you come to take me home?
I’m small, cute and cuddly now, but wait till I grow up.*
*Maine coons will grow up to be huge. Don’t get one if you don’t have the space for one.
That’s it from me, I’ll see you all back in Singapore, especially you, dear Nomnom. Oh and the babe coverage for Computex is out, so hop on over to Hardware Zone . You know you want to.
Reached Taipei yesterday, walked around, did some touristy thingys. Like, for example, finally paying the 400NT to go up to the almost top floor of the Taipei 101 building. It was…interesting to say the least, though nothing out of the ordinary. The only cool part was probably the big huge ass wind damper, which is a giant steel ball that’s suspended inside the building to absorb earthquakes and strong winds. Was hoping for a strong wind to see it actually move but no such luck.
Oh well. Pics!
The view from the top
The huge ass wind damper.
The not-so-cute but trying-its-best-to-look-cute mascot, Damper Boy.
Now for the start of a very long work day. Catchya all in a little bit.
No pics – cos of their no camera policy, though I’ll try to snag some from office later. Do check out my review in next’s month GameAxis UnWired. Anyhows, the concert was a blast, I certainly enjoyed myself, though I’m certainly not going to spoil my own review.
Many pieces were played, but the best of the lot were in my opinion probably To Zanarkand, Aerith’s Theme, Love Theme, Chocobo Swing and One-Winged Angel.
What I really want to say though, is probably summed best in three words from a wise friend of mine:
Goosebumps, tears, and awesome.
Landed at Brisbane Airport at 6.30am (their time, which is 4.30am) with just 2 hours of sleep. So freaking tired, but so totally in love with the weather here. I’m here for work, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the cool, crisp weather that’s just so different from what’s plaguing SG right now.
Anyhows, Intel has kindly arranged transport to the hotel, Conrad Jupiters, on the Gold Coast. It’s about one hour by bus and everyone onboard feel asleep due to not getting enough on the plane.
Not the bus we tooked, but similar.
Apologies for the blur
Here at last.
After checking in and getting registered for the event and checking out the schedule, I decided to hop by to Pacific Fair, which is 5~10 mins of walking from the hotel.
The sky here is as pretty as I remember, with nary a cloud in sight, and I’m guessing I won’t have time to head down to Surfer’s paradise for a walk to see if anything’s changed.
Had the Neptune’s Catch (A$9.90 with an additional A$1.20 for tartar sauce) instead of Oporto Burgers (which I remember to be awesome, but there’s always tomorrow). I had forgotten about the portions here and was struggling to finish my lunch. Oh, a bottle of mineral water here costs A$2.80, which mades me wince inside while also cursing my bad memory on how they crazily hike drink prices here.
Headed back to the hotel at last, and concussed for 3 hours while catching up on sleep.
Just bought a 2nd-hand PS3 at a good price, went looking around the “normal” game shops looking for a HDMI cable and a DVI converter and only found overpriced crap.
Seriously, stop trying to fob off a cable that isn’t worth more than $20 (at most) at such ridculous prices. $69? What’s in your cable? Diamond dust and gold flecks?
I’ll probably hop over to SLS tomorrow and grab the cable for cheap ($10?).
While Nomnom was happily sitting on my bed, waiting for me to play with her, I decided to introduce her to Yoshi. She’s generally very well mannered and gentle, and will happily meow at you until you play with her (if that’s what she wants) or just ignore you while doing her own thing.
Not this time. Hurhurhur.
It’s time to meet the Dinosaur! Roar!
Nomnom! Meet Yoshi!
Yoshi creeps a little closer at the unsuspecting Nomnom.
Yeeha! Giddy up kitteh!
Unfortunately, Yoshi doesn’t really have a good grip…
And that folks, was my weekend, between the work I was clearing for my upcoming work trip. Grind grind grind away!
